Caratteristico e vecchio squero, risalente al Seicento, lungo il rio di San Trovaso.
In posizione particolarmente suggestiva, rappresenta uno dei pochi squeri ancora in funzione a Venezia.
Un tempo usati per la costruzione di ogni tipo di imbarcazione, oggi gli squeri limitano la propria attività alla produzione e riparazione delle gondole.

Il termine squero deriva da “squadra”, in dialetto squara, uno strumento di lavoro.

Qui si può ammirare il caratteristico piazzale inclinato verso il canale per l’accesso delle imbarcazioni e una costruzione di legno, chiamata tesa, usata per lavorare al riparo dalla pioggia e come deposito di attrezzi.

L’edificio, così come gli altri squeri, ricorda le casa di montagna: qui vivevano i maestri artigiani provenienti dalle zone del Cadore, da cui giungeva il legname per la costruzione delle imbarcazioni.
