Nel secondo altare di sinistra della Basilica di Bagno è esposto l’olio su tavola (cm 231 x 191) raffigurante “La Madonna col Bambino ei Santi Giovanni Evangelista e Giovanni Battista”, di equilibrata misura e memore di ricordi primocinquecenteschi e manieristici.

La critica lo vuole dipinto, anteriormente al 1560, da Michele Tosini (1503-1577) che fu dapprima allievo a Firenze di Lorenzo di Credi, poi aiuto del Ghirlandaio, dal quale ha preso il soprannome. Tosini fu molto apprezzato ai suoi tempi, ricevendo commissioni importanti sia nell’ambiente gentilizio che in quello ecclesiastico fiorentino. Il dipinto è stato restaurato nel 1985.
